Bok globules (dark gaseous clouds that form protostars) seem to float across the brighter areas of nebulosity. Hi.This is an image of a faint Nebulae classed as Cederblad 214 in Cepheus.It surrounds a bright Trapezium of stars,that are visible in this image.It was taken last night under moon,and high haze.Two ED80 Scopes were used,with HX916 and MX916 mono camera,s imaging the same target.This is a narrow 2020-02-12 · This cosmic question mark, in constellation Cepheus, contains following objects; At top, Cederblad 214(Ced 214) surrounded by NGC 7822, a dot like nebula at the bottom is known as Sharpless 170,(Sh2-170). Image spans over Five degrees vertically. Distance from my observatory, is ~2750 light years and it spans about 40 light years. Cederblad 214 is a bright nebula and star-forming region in the wider SH2-171 area in Cepheus.

Cederblad 214 is one of the largest molecular cloud complexes in our Galaxy. Together with NGC 7822, it forms a large region of glowing hydrogen gas. In the centre of this region lies the young star cluster named Berkeley 59. This complex has a distance of about 3000 light-years from Earth.
